Item description: * See scan - absolutely perfect condition. Extremely rare large size Byzantine lead seal in a condition that any collector would dream of. Some of the dust still remains on top. Perfect detail on both sides and holes at both edges are perfectly clear. This is most probably a Royal seal of one of the vasal Kings. Front is the king in full hight with crown on his head hailing all circled with some abreviated letters and text, and back is again circled with some letters and a cross. I'm really not into reading out Byzantine lead seals, so it is very difficult for me to describe exactly the place and meaning of the seal, but it is obvious this is one extremely fine piece. This particular seal comes from a private collection and is certainly a gem one cannot see every day. Scarce piece.
